Northern Utah
WebSDR - Server #3
80/40M back-up receivers and various SWBC using an Omnidirectional antenna
Plus 2 meters via south-pointing beam antenna
This WebSDR is located near Corinne, Utah, about 80 miles (94km) north of Salt Lake City and about 14 miles (23km) east of the Golden Spike National Historic Site.
This WebSDR system covers all U.S. amateur HF, MF and LF bands, 2 meters, the bottom 1 MHz of 6 meters, and several shortwave broadcast bands - see the Technical Info page for more details.
Covered by this server:
- The 2 meter amateur band using a 5 element Yagi pointed (more or less) south, allowing reception of many repeaters and stations in the Salt Lake, Davis, Weber and Box Elder counties - which includes the areas from Salt Lake to north of Brigham City.
- The 90, 41, 31, 25 and 19 meter shortwave broadcast bands.
- Also provided by this server is redundancy for the very popular 80/75 and 40 meter amateur bands if WebSDR1 (Yellow) goes offline, using these lower-performance receivers. 30 meters happens to be covered by the "31-30" meter receiver as well.
The 2021/2022 User Survey has finished and you may see the results here.
2 meter reception significantly improved:
The 2 meter antenna - a south-pointing, 5 element Yagi - was relocated away from the (RF-noisy!) building and to a much greater height. Doing this almost completely eliminates all QRN from computers, networking gear and switching power supplies, lowering the noise floor considerably. The added height offers better signals due to the reduction of Fresnel (and other) effects, allowing an estimated 15 dB or so improvement in overall performance.
For Salt Lake City area coverage on 2 meters and 70cm look for the Salt Lake Metro buttons, below.

If you find that CatSync doesn't work with this WebSDR, add "?10Hz" to the URL.
Remember: If you don't do something (e.g. retune, adjust bandwidth, volume) this WebSDR will time out after 120 minutes. If it does time out, refresh the browser.
Does the echo of your transmitted audio from the WebSDR drive you crazy? This circuit may help!
